Scottsdale Wi-Fi Gets Wi-Fi On Friday

WildFire Broadband Wireless Communications will complete the installation of the wireless a citywide Wi-Fi network at 9:30 a.m. this Friday. Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross will ceremoniously start the service in a televised media event.
 
WildFire Broadband Wireless Communications offers wireless services for wi-fi equipped computers and handheld devices in homes, businesses and on the street, said Randy Carrero, WildFire president.

Wi-Fi Service Rolled Out In Two Phases
The Wi-Fi service in the first phase will be available between Chaparral Drive and Osborn Road, from Miller Road to 68th Street. The second phase will expand the service south from Osborn to Thomas Road.
 
Even businesses with thick masonry, concrete or steel walls can receive Wi-Fi with the installation of additional wi-fi hardware.
 
"The freedom and the wonderfulness of being able to do whatever you want, anywhere you want, (with computers) is really what this is all about," Carrero said.
