SMB Splish Salons Member of Green America's Green Business N...

GREEN AMERICA'S GREEN BUSINESS NETWORK WELCOMES SPLISH SALONS AS ITS FIRST FRANCHISE MEMBER

Washington, DC & Keystone, CO//April 26, 2010//Keystone, CO-based Splish Salon became the first franchise approved by Green America's Green Business Network, the nation's original and largest network of screened green businesses.  Splish was named an approved member after successfully completing Green America's rigorous screening process, which evaluates the social and environmental responsibility of applicant companies.

Melissa Christenson, spokeswoman for Splish Salon Systems, says: "At Splish Salon, we deliver consistently beautiful, environmentally friendly experiences, so our guests can not only love their hair, but love their planet too.  It is wonderful to be recognized for our hard work by Green America, and we are thrilled to be the first franchise company to earn its Seal of Approval."

In October 2007, Splish opened its first concept salon in Colorado, and with the success of that flagship salon, it created a franchise across the nation.  As a Green America approved company, Splish goes beyond the basics and represents best practices in their industry. Their hair products are chemical free, the store uses low voltage lighting and has incorporated cabinet surfaces made of recycled banana fibers.

True to the dual definition that Green America holds, Splish franchise cares about both people and the planet.  The salon offers their employees a comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation, flexible scheduling, and health insurance.  The stylish and sustainable salon also supports the local community with their Splish Foundation, a 501 (c) non-profit organization.  And of course, all these environmental and social characteristics are being implemented in Splish franchisees across the country.

Screening Director for Green America Rebecca Shaloff expressed pride in welcoming Splish as the first franchise into the Green Business Network, which now is home to 4,000 socially and environmentally responsible companies.  "Splish embodied the values that are a requisite for the Green America Seal of Approval, and we were excited to know these values will be extended to additional franchise locations across the country."
